THE Herald Sun is very pleased to offer Victorian teachers our special education kit for 2015: Gallipoli — Australia at War

One hundred years ago Australian soldiers landed on the shores of Gallipoli as part of the Allied campaign of World War I.

This was Australia’s first foray into war as a federated nation. What those soldiers couldn’t know on April 25, 1915 was just how much the event would help to forge our nation’s identity. A legend was born, the legend of Anzac.

This educational resource will give teachers access to collectable editions of the Herald Sun newspaper, delivered in class sets of 25 to your school, in the lead up to Anzac Day.

As part of the kit teachers will receive 40 secondary activity worksheets and 40 primary activity worksheets directly linked to a 10-part poster series published in the Herald Sun.

The Herald Sun’s Gallipoli — Australia at War poster series will cover topics related to the Gallipoli landing including The Landing, The Campaign, The Turks, Casualties, Battles and more.

In the lead up to Anzac Day the Herald Sun will publish a 48-page supplement and commemorative wraps covering all aspects of the Gallipoli campaign, which will be an invaluable and collectable resource for students and teachers.

This informative educational resource will help you meet some of your national curriculum needs in History, Geography, English and Civics and Citizenship.
