Star Wars: The Force Awakens could be released as early as this summer, if JJ Abrams gets his way.
It’s already one of the most anticipated movie releases of the year but today’s news that the film might be released several months ahead of schedule has likely sent Star Wars fans pulsing racing faster than the Millennium Falcon.
As per reports online, JJ Abrams announced his intentions at the recent Video Effects Society Awards to combat what many believe will be inevitable plot leaks in the film, as Abrams hopes to maintain the element of surprise for the film’s legions of fans worldwide.
If the film does get pushed forwards, and the report suggests that Disney are “seriously” considering it, Star Wars: The Force Awakens will duel with the likes of Jurassic World and Avengers: Age of Ultron in what could be the most hotly contested cinematic box office war in recent times.
The Force Awakens was initially slated for a December release and you can check out the teaser trailer below.
